About

Me on the Floor

My name is Alan Palazzolo. I currently live in Minneapolis, Minnesota in these United States of America. Most of my time is spent being a Drupal Developer, mostly for the Chicago Technology Cooperative. I also like to ride bikes, take photos, breathe fresh air, get to know new people, spend time with the familiar friends, write haikus, play music, read (and sometimes believe) things, and work on whatever project hits me this season.

My History

I was born in Michigan to two wonderful people that have since parted ways but remain to be just as fantastic. I spent the majority of my childhood in the suburbs of New Jersey running around, playing hockey, fiddling with computers, mashing buttons for video games, and building with Legos.

I then spent my adolescence, high school years in and around the capital of North Carolina doing what most teenagers do: write bad poetry, listen to loud music, get into trouble, and ponder existence.

My college years were spent in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina trying to learn how to learn, rekindling my love of computers and programming, growing into my emotional skin, and starting to see the sky and the future.

After college, I spent a blissful year out in Portland, Oregon where I began to find love and responsibility in my life. Along the way, I picked up a special little furball named Teton.

These past years in Minnesota I have met some amazing people, started to build my professional life, began to make practical, fundamental changes in how I live my life, learn to appreciate severe winters, and added Jefa to my furry family.

My Future

It's hard to say where this beautiful world will take me, and with so much room for improvement. The near future will involve a lot more Drupal and more research on many social/economic issues. Hopefully moving and some traveling. In the longer term, I hope to tkae my life and really focus it towards directly making the world around me better. It's hard to say how this will pan out, but I am excited.
