Development as Freedom

Development as Freedom cover by Cover Browser (http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/bestsellers-2007/2013-1.jpg)

One of the first books I read on economic development, I was not aware how innovative and powerful this book was as I read it. Though it has some heavy language, everything Amartya said seemed so obvious and I wondered why it really needed to be said.

Then I read a fair amount more on the subject and have realized that this book is revolutionary.

Experts always make it look easy, and this book makes it all so obvious and easy. This simple idea of freedom can proliferate to a world without hunger and poverty. This is a must read for anyone interested on the subject of economic (nay, social) development.
